Zach Chrisinger
Bowl Turner

Visited: October 13-22, 2022

Zach Chrisinger is a woodworker residing in Mid-Coast Maine. His work primarily focuses on the use of a traditional foot-powered lathe to turn bowls, plates, and cups out of green wood. Zach’s lathe, known as a pole lathe, is a tool that is dated back to the early Viking era, with similar lathe types found around the world. In his free time, Zach enjoys mushroom hunting, surfing the coast of Maine, and hiking with his dog Ginny.

Zach’s visit at Village Handcraft will
span two weeks in October! During that time,
we’ll be open to the public Oct. 13-15 & 20-22.
Throughout his visit, Zach will be turning bowls
on his lathe and working on other carving projects.

The shop will be open during our normal hours, Thursday-Saturday 11 am - 5 pm. Anyone is welcome to stop by each day we are open to see the work happening. The bowl turning process is physical, engaging, and beautiful to watch. Zach’s bowls will also be available for purchase in the store.
