This is: $85 class fee (paid upon registration), and a $15 materials fee (paid to the teacher at the start of class).
In this class we will bind the Japanese Stab Binding with western materials, while discussing original eastern tools & materials. An older tradition than the western styles of hand book binding, together we will explore multiple decorative sewing patterns. A tidy book for the list writers, which can also be used as a journal, to collect favorite recipes or poems, and more.
Joelle Webber, our guest instructor for this class, has spent 40 years collecting book arts techniques in college & workshop settings. She now designs classes for many different communities of makers based on her experience in writing, paper decorating, collage, calligraphy, pop-up, paper sculpting, book binding and box making.
All tools and materials needed for the class will be provided.
No prior experience is necessary to participate. Class is appropriate for participants age 15+. Any participant under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult also participating in the class. Please reach out with any questions.
