An excellent introduction to broom craft: We’ll create cobwebs brooms, a slender broom just right for dusting away winter webs in high and hard-to-reach places!

Date & Time: February 28, 2026 9:00am - noon

Total cost of class: $110
This is: $100 class fee (paid upon reservation) and a $10 materials fee (paid at the start of class).

Come make a broom and sweep away the cobwebs!
We’ll combine locally harvested sapling and branch handles with stalks of broom corn and string to create beautiful, lasting brooms. You’ll learn techniques for binding the broom corn to the handles, weave the stalks around the handle, and stitch the broom round to hold the bristles in place and give it structure. A hole bored in the top of the handle and a thin leather hanging cord cap off the project. Handles and all other materials will be provided. These make wonderful brooms to display in the home and are just great for reaching those tough spots where the spiders have been hiding all winter!
Each Participant can expect to create 1 cobweb broom during this 3 hr class.

No prior experience is necessary to participate, though dexterity in both hands is quite important for broom making. Class is appropriate for participants age 14+. Any participant under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult also participating in the class. Please reach out with questions.
